Location: Middelburg, Mpumalanga coalfields.
Infrastructure: Well-established infrastructure in this area which has traditionally been home to South African collieries.
Resource: 6.8Mt.
Mining method: Opencast mining to an approximate maximum depth of 30 metres, low stripping ratios.
Product: Thermal coal.; Current production of 300 – 350Ktpa which feeds the washplant at Woestalleen.
Latest developments: Actively attempting to secure additional resources in the area.
